SENIOR CLINICIAN IN INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
"I studied History and East Asian Studies at the University of Wisconsin Madison but never gave up on my dream of being a conductor through school. By chance and luck, I ended up the Assistant Conductor of the Charleston Symphony in South Carolina and assisted other orchestras like New York Youth, Louisville, Hilton Head, and Buffalo.
I now describe myself as a former conductor. I found myself burnt out and uninspired by my coworkers and the opportunities I was offered. I stopped conducting and began traveling the world, tallying nearly two years abroad. What I will be bringing to the Conductors’ Collective at Escalante (and my focus now) are discussions on self-love, the relationship of the individual to the art and the industry, work-life balance, maintaining drive and focus, realistic job expectations, and how to maintain stable mental health while pursuing a career that is exceptionally and uniquely demanding."
